Having fun on South Padre
|

Three times daily, ISLA TOURS offers a scenic tour of the
Laguna Madre bay. Traveling along the Bay Side Homes, Businesses and
shoreline, the Queen Isabella Causeway and out to the mouth of the Bay you
are presented with an exhilarating opportunity to capture the excitement of
the year-round aquatic residents of South Padre Island.
The Atlantic Bottle Nosed Dolphins can be seen feeding and playing in the
shallow waters of the Bay. Often seen at the mouth of the Bay or feeding at
Dolphin Point or, playfully swimming in the tranquil setting of the South
Bay Area. You will need a quick eye and be even quicker on the camera button
to catch these beautiful mammals.
During your tour there may be an ocean going cargo ship and an opportunity
to view these magnificent creatures SURFING in the bow swell of the ships in
route to or from The Port of Brownsville.
The Dolphins of the Laguna Madre Bay are smaller and weigh less than their
Ocean dwelling cousins. The typical Dolphin in the Bay my weigh on average
of 400 pounds and grows to be typically 8 feet in length. The life span of a
Bay Dolphin is about 40 years and the mother Dolphins may have about 5
babies in that time. Mothers will watch over the babies for 3 or 4 years
carefully watching and nurturing their development. You will be given an
opportunity to watch the wonder of the Dolphin family’s behavior.
After the 2 hour scenic Dolphin experience you will have had a memorable,
family oriented experience, a couple of hours of relaxing in the South Texas
Sun and collected a few Photos of Natures Wonderful Creatures during your
time spent with ISLA TOURS aboard the MURPHY’S LAW. |
